I think we are often given to answering kid’s ‘deep’ questions with a brush off ‘don’t worry about that - you wouldn’t understand’. Often I wonder if that is code for ‘I’m not so sure, I can’t explain it and I don’t want to take the time to bother - who wants an ice cream?!’I enjoy these sorts of questions from kids because they force me to think carefully and explain a difficult concept simply, without being simplistic - which is often difficult. Sembrano because when we climbed the mountain with the backpackers the peak was very foggy and no views at all and I was also suffering from stomach ache when the time we’re going to assault I really felt so apprehensive because of the pain. I didn't have the time to enjoy the climb because of that. After the supposed revisit at Mt. Sembrano we will join the Backpackers at their climb in Mt. Tagapo, Sir Freddie already made our itinerary to manage our time but unfortunately it was cancelled because of the typhoon Ofel. Merlin and I settled in the van pondering what to do next. I remembered a call on my cell that I had ignored because we were in the middle of the survey and the number was not in my address book. When we go off on an adventure….” It is just something we say, it gives purpose to our gallivanting. We took off yesterday to hit a few garage sales and an estate sale…got more glass dishes since I am a hoarder. Then we headed up north because we heard that a Lady Slipper that we have never seen before might be blooming. We stopped at an antique shop just because we had not been there for awhile…Far Guy got a train car and I bought some old postcards cause I hoard those things too. Then we headed home. Wesley Loy photoDeckboss is on the road for a spell, and Seattle is my first stop. What a city. I could spend hours walking the piers at Fishermen's Terminal looking at fish boats of every size and shape. The restaurants, entertainment and general pace of Seattle is marvelous. Heck, I even like the rain. I do have some business here. I'll be attending Pacific Marine Expo, also known as Fish Expo, starting on Thursday. If you go to the expo and see me walking around, by all means step up and say hello. From a HubbleSite release: Normal asteroids should appear simply as tiny points of light. Because nothing like this has ever been seen before, astronomers are scratching their heads to find an adequate explanation for its out-of-this-world appearance. One interpretation is that the asteroid's rotation rate increased to the point where its surface started flying apart, ejecting dust in episodic eruptions starting last spring. The asteroid could possibly have been spun up if the pressure of sunlight exerted a torque on the body. OK. I could not take it any more. I had to at least get some words on this blog. The cruise is almost over. We sailed away from Tenerife this afternoon. It is easily one of my favorite islands. I have tales to tell and pictures to share. But not right now.
Spore is out! Must play Spore! Must conquer space.I finally decided to give this blog thing a whirl. With my sporadic memory, it ought to be interesting. Chelsea is one of them. image from Vogue's Book of Houses, Gardens, and People, Horst, Lawford. Pachauri, who holds degrees in economics and engineering. e. So what’s my point? That this is a conspiracy? No – although if I was so inclined, the fact that Pachauri was on the board of Toyota and Lee on the board of Hyundai, the two automotive firms with big investments in Sudan, would set my tin foil hat tingling before I’d even got to Pachauri’s Rockefeller connections. these pics seem good for a fall day.
i love how pretty those old letters look framed.
what a great idea.that antique suzani on that settee is perfection. The skies have been so dark here the past couple of days and even darker this morning. I decided there was very little chance for taking any good pictures in such low light, so I decided to raid my albums for some photos from the past instead. Before I start bringing up memories, I just want to thank God for sparing our little city from the violent and scary storms that were originally meant for us. We had so many warnings of severe thunderstorms and heavy rains, but we were spared when those storms went to the north of us and headed into Houston.
Poor Houston is suffering from severe flooding today with more rain on the way, so please pray for those in the metro Houston area.We are not out of the woods yet, as the skies are getting darker and darker here as I type, but I am on my laptop, so we can proceed with the memories without the worry of having my desktop Mac receiving a power surge. So many things have changed in my life since I first began this blog. I was still living in Idaho. My parents, my aunt, and my mother-in-law, were still alive. My husband's cousin Jim was still alive before he was brutally murdered in his own home. For those who don't know, or remember this tragic murder, you can read about it here. The very last thing anyone ever suspects is for a man of the cloth, a servant of God and a loving family man to be murdered in his own home by an intruder. Life was so different for us before all the losses. I just missed Seumus this morning as he topped out the feeding station at Rawcliffe Moss where he reported an increase in most everything. After we watched a couple of thousand tightly packed Starlings whoosh noisily over, I kindly let him get off to work. Then so as to let the feeding station birds return, I spent some time watching out for birds around the farm buildings. No surprises here with the usual Dunnock and the Robin which wanted to be top of the tailings this morning, unlike the Grey Wagtail which searched around the base of the pile of debris where I watched it find pale coloured grubs but also little round blackish ones to eat. The photographic difficulty this morning was freezing the action of its constantly wagging tail with a slow shutter in the poor light as dark rain clouds threatened to spoil another morning’s birding. After a while I drove down to the feeding track, saturated fields on either side of me where hundreds of Black-headed Gulls had found the overnight flood. From the end of the track I could see odd Fieldfares and Redwings perched on the hedgerow, and then right at the end of the hedge Tree Sparrows darting back and forth to the ground feed. TearsDo you ever have one of those weeks? Those weeks where you just find yourself crying a lot.
I’m having one of those weeks, but I’m not really sad, just emotional.I had two incidents that happened this past weekend that made me break down. First, on Sunday evening my husband and daughter went to the Father-Daughter dance that was held at the St. Paul Lutheran Church. It was so nice! What a great event for dads and daughters. Jenna was excited for a couple of weeks in advance and didn’t stop asking how long it was until the dance until she and Aaron left for the dance. In honor of the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of my blog, and in conjunction with the release of the newest Harry Potter movie, I thought I'd release one of my first ever captions, which just so happens to be Harry Potter themed. Were those covers any good? Is water wet? Here's a mere sampling of Rich's awesome artistry. Just a random glimpse of why Teen Groove turned loose so many quarters and dimes on DC during that exciting era. Today we wrap up Papertrey's April release countdown with our monthly Release in Review. I'll be sharing most of my remaining projects in a few days, but I do have one thing to share today: This is Betsy's Paper Clippings: Thank You. I love the intricate die-cuts in the Paper Clippings series, but I've used the stamps on this card, so that I could add shading for a faux brush lettering look. The sentiment strip is embellished with a pair of Branching Out branches and a simple yellow sponged butterfly. The point to Lost and Found is to level the support playing field.
